On The Record: A Hofstra Presidential Conference Retrospective Presented by Hofstra University Date: September 18, 2008 Time: 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Hofstra's groundbreaking series of presidential conferences were one factor that led to the University being selected as the site for the October 15, 2008, presidential debate between John McCain and Barack Obama. For the first time, the Hofstra professors and deans who organized these historic conferences gather to share reminiscences of working with former presidents, first ladies, their families and members of their administrations. The Hofstra conferences have focused on the administrations of FDR (in 1982) through Clinton (in 2005).
