A sculpture installation like nothing you have ever seen before! This blockbuster event will be a one of a kind experience for audiences across Long Island and New York, transforming NCMA's vast grounds into a dark and mysterious showcase for a dazzling display of over 3,000 hand-carved, illuminated jack o' lanterns. Complete with spooky music and sound effects, the Museum's expansive landscape will be the backdrop for montages and tableaus of hand carved pumpkins, arranged by themes ranging from traditional Halloween scenes to ornate lattice designs. Swirling paths for visitors will immerse them in the spectacle, sure to delight all the senses.
This innovative Halloween event is also a community project; in addition to professional carvers and a landscape architect, individuals from local schools, community centers, hospitals, senior living facilities and the Museum public will be asked participate in "Pumpkin Carving Evenings" preceding the event.
