Halloween Boat Burning Date: October 25, 2008 Time: 6:00pm
Easily one of the strangest Halloween traditions! Join thousands who will gather on the Museum's front lawn to witness the biggest bonfire on the South Shore!
The Halloween Boat Burning began as a simple thank you to the local residences because they had to endure an increase in traffic and more activity as the Museum gained popularity. Loosely based on the Viking tradition of a nautical burial, someone donates an old, neglected wooden boat to become the "burn boat" for the year.
So join us for apple cider, snacks, magic and..... a great big fire!!
