Spotlight Series: Black History Month Exhibit
The Long Island GLBT Community Center Is Proud To Announce A Series Of Rotating Exhibits Honoring Some Of The Remarkable Members Of The Diverse Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual And Transgender Community. People Who Have Made Extraordinary Contributions To Humankind. In Observance Of Black History Month, From George Washington Carver, To Today's Out And Proud Lesbian Comedian Wanda Sykes, Come Learn About Some Of The Amazing Individuals Who Continue To Grow And Shape The Way We See The World.
Exhibits Are Open For Viewing Monday-Thursday 10am-8pm And Friday 10am-5pm. Admission Is Free, However Donations To Help Support This Initiative Are Encouraged.

New Traveling Exhibit-The Mystery Of The Myan Medallion
An Archaeological Team Has Mysteriously Disappeared, Along With A Priceless Jade Medallion Buried Among Ancient Maya Ruins – Will You Be The One To Uncover The Mystery And Find The Priceless Treasure?
Get A Taste Of What It's Like To Be An Archaeologist As You Join In The Treasure Quest And Immerse Yourself In The Beauty And Intrigue Of Maya Culture. Watch The Video Left Behind By The Missing Archaeological Team, Then Piece Together Their Cues To Find The Jade Medallion. This Highly Interactive Exhibit Has Visitors Translating Ancient Mayan Glyphs, Examining An Excavated Skeleton, Investigating The Deadliness Of Tomb-Dwelling Spiders, And More As You Search For The Elusive Medallion. The Mystery Of The Mayan Medallion Has Been Developed By The Arkansas Discovery Network, Through A Grant Funded By The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
All Ages. Free With Museum Admission. Children Must Be Accompanied By An Adult. Museum Admission: $10 For Adults And Children Over 1 Year Old, $9 Seniors, FREE To Museum Members And Children Under 1 Year Old. Open Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 5pm. Closed Mondays.

Join In The Creation Of This Fun Collaborative Sculpture As You Help Build a Tiny Neighborhood Installation Using Cardboard Boxes And Other Fun Materials. After The Workshop, Visit Danielle’s Exhibit In The KaleidoZone Gallery.

Darwin Day: Stand Up For Science Celebration
In Honor Of Charles Darwin's 202nd Birthday, The Ethical Humanist Society Of Long Island Hosts It's Annual Darwin Day/Stand Up For Science Fair And Exhibit. Our Celebration Begins With Charismatic Speaker, Dr. Victor Schuster, Who Will Demonstrate "How Science Works." In The Afternoon, There Will Be An Astrological Demonstration By Members Of The Amateur Astronomer's Club. Ongoing Events Include "Dino Digs," Face Painting, Graffitti Wall And Other Hands On Science Activities. This Event Is Open To Children And Adults Of All Ages. Children, In Particular, Are Fascinated About Science And Our Natural World. Families Will Enjoy This Celebration Of Science. Food Will Be Available For Purchase. All Are Welcome.

From Monday-Friday, February 20-24, From 10am-2pm, Kids Will Make Their Own Individual Pizzas, Make And Decorate Sugar Cookies And Cupcakes, Make Chocolate Lollipops, Decorate Aprons, Paint Ceramic Figurines And Cupcake Banks, Dance, Play Games, And More. There Will Be A Full Nutritional Lunch And Snack Each Day, Two Projects Or Activities, And The Day Will End With A Popular Children's Short Movie. Projects And Lunches Vary Each Day. Children Ages 4-12 Are Invited To Attend. $45 Per Child Per Day Or $200 Per Child For A Full Week.
