Eighth Annual Landscape Show, Juried By Bill Christ, Featuring Work In All Media Except Photography. Artists' Reception July 23rd, 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

A Special Day for Special Kids is slated for Saturday July 31, 2010, from 10:00am to 5:00pm at West Hills Day Camp, 21 Sweet Hollow Road, Huntington. Now in its sixth year, this annual event affords children with special needs -- be it autism spectrum disorder, Asperger syndrome, Tourette's syndrome, ADHD, OCD or other related neurobiological disorders -- an opportunity to feel comfortable enough to let go and just have fun in a safe environment.

Activities during the weekend will include swimming, paddle boats, fishing, arts and crafts, giant slide, castle bounce, zip line, miniature golf, games, nursery playground and much more. While these Special Kids are enjoying the many activities being offered, an array of information, guest speakers and resources also will be available to parents and professionals in the field. This year we are adding some interactive activities like challenger baseball, Special Olympics, yoga, dance and pony rides.

Admission for A Special Day for Special Kids is $12 for adults and $6 for children. Proceeds from the event benefit the scholarship fund of the Custom Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization that seeks to help individuals with special needs acquire the services and support they require to live the quality life they deserve.
