Presented by Pa Qua Tuck Squaws
Date: October 15 - 16, 2010
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm Camp Pa Qua Tuck
Center Moriches, NY |
SpookyWalk
The SpookyWalk is Long Island's #1 Haunted Attraction! Started in 1989, the Spooky Walk is a fundraiser for Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. The Camp is a special place for children and adults with disabilities to enjoy summer as much as anyone else. The Spooky Walk has since become a huge event on Long Island, and has been the #1 most popular haunt around for years.
Delivering about 45 minutes to an hour of scares (depending on if you can make it through without running all the way to the end), it's the longest lasting one you'll find on all of Long Island! Most of the other haunts on Long Island last barely 20 minutes if you walk slow. It's also the longest running haunt, with this year marking it's 22nd Anniversary as Long Island's premiere Halloween attraction!
The Spooky Walk hopes to up the ante for it's 22nd Anniversary and deliver the best and scariest time you're sure to have anywhere this Halloween season! It's SpookWalk 22 - Do you hit or stay?
For any of the nights: you may arrive before the time the gates open, which is at 7PM. The line to enter SpookyWalk closes at 9PM (if you are in line prior to 9PM, you will be admitted).
Directions: Exit 69 LIE or Exit 59 Sunrise Highway to Wading River Road. Take Wading River Road South to end. Make right at 2nd light (Main Street.) Go left to camp. Free shuttle bus transportation available from King Kullen (shopping center) in Center Moriches.

Halloween Boat Burning
Date: October 29, 2010
Time: 5:00pm - 9:00pm Long Island Maritime Museum
West Sayville, NY |
Halloween Boat Burning
Easily one of the strangest Halloween traditions! Join thousands who will gather on the Museum's front lawn to witness the biggest bonfire on the South Shore! The Halloween Boat Burning began as a simple thank you to the local residences because they had to endure an increase in traffic and more activity as the Museum gained popularity. Loosely based on the Viking tradition of a nautical burial, someone donates an old, neglected wooden boat to become the "burn boat" for the year. So join us for apple cider, snacks, magic and..... a great big fire!!
Raindate: October 31st.
Admission: $5.00pp; under 12 free
