Astronomy 101 - 3 Week Course
This three week course (Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17) is aimed at students young and old who are new to the field of astronomy or who want to brush up on the basics; even the most experienced astronomers will learn a thing or two.
Prof. Lomaga's teaching style makes learning easy and fun.
Topics will include subjects ranging from the fundamentals of our solar system, to cosmology, to finding your way around the night sky, as well as areas of special interest suggested by class participants. Lots of fascinating things to learn and amazing sights to see.
When weather permits, the class will be taken outside for in-field demonstrations and observing. Instructor: Prof. George Lomaga has taught astronomy at Suffolk County Community College and has been an active Member of the Custer Institute for decades.
