FARMINGDALE, NY - June 9-
This year, Philanthropy Day 2010 will be held at a new location:
the Huntington Hilton, 598 Broad Hollow Road Melville, NY, 11747, south of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 49
on Friday, November 19th, 2010.
The day-long conference presented by AFPLI - The Association for Fundraising Professionals Long Island Chapter - was moved in order to better accommodate participants who attend workshops, visit exhibitors, network, and celebrate the contributions of individuals and organizations whose philanthropic commitments have improved the quality of life for all Long Islanders, especially the most vulnerable.
"We will be reminding attendees early and often so that everyone will go to the Huntington Hilton in Melville," said Patricia Chambers Daly, Chairperson of Philanthropy Day 2010 and Director of Development for the Dominican Sisters of Amityville. "We enjoyed our many years at the Marriott in Uniondale, but we are confident that the new location will prove to be a success."
Philanthropy Day is celebrated in November in cities across America.
Fundraising professionals, board members, business leaders, community activists and individuals gather for professional development and to honor their leaders. Long Island's Philanthropy Day is one of the largest one-day fundraising conferences in the country and regularly attracts more than 700 attendees and 60 exhibitors, with the highlight of the day being the Awards Luncheon
